Russia and Ukraine exchanged 175 prisoners of war each on Saturday, marking a rare instance of cooperation between the two countries amid ongoing conflict. Officials from both nations confirmed the swap.
The United Arab Emirates facilitated the exchange, which occurred ahead of a planned temporary ceasefire. The ceasefire is set to coincide with Orthodox Easter.
This latest exchange represents one of the few areas of collaboration between Russia and Ukraine during the war. Both sides prepared for the ceasefire as part of the prisoner exchange process.
