Meta debuts Muse, a new AI image generation model

technology artificial intelligence

Meta Platforms Inc. has debuted Muse Image, its first image-generation artificial intelligence model created under the Superintelligence Labs division. Led by Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, the division was rebuilt a year ago with an investment of billions of dollars. This release marks the second algorithm released by the research group, following the debut of the Muse Spark large language model in April.

Muse Image can create realistic images from text prompts, alter existing pictures, write code, and search the web. The model is rolling out within the Meta AI chatbot and will be embedded across Instagram and WhatsApp.

The launch is part of Meta's effort to catch up in the global artificial intelligence race and attract creators and advertisers to its offerings. The new model provides numerous use cases, including advertising, decorating, and creator-based opportunities.
