Six people were killed and eight others wounded in a shooting in Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Sunday that those injured, including a 12-year-old child, remain hospitalized.

The attack was carried out by a Russian-born man who opened fire on passers-by. He subsequently barricaded himself inside a supermarket with hostages before being shot dead by police.

Ukrainian officials stated that the shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism, although they have offered no motive for the attack.
