Meta Platforms Inc. is in early discussions to lease computing power from its data centers to Anthropic PBC. This potential arrangement could be worth as much as $10 billion over a period of two years.
The talks are currently in a preliminary stage and could still fall through. This development comes weeks after Anthropic announced a separate $1.25 billion-per-month arrangement with SpaceX to utilize Nvidia GPUs at the Colossus 1 data center.
A finalized deal would underscore the current scarcity of computing power available for artificial intelligence development. It could also create a new line of business for Meta.
