Seven people, including a pilot and six tourists, were killed Wednesday when a safari helicopter crashed in a remote, rugged area of Kenya's Samburu county. Kenyan authorities have confirmed that all seven individuals on board passed away in the accident.
The crash occurred near Mount Ololokwe, a popular tourist destination in central and northern Kenya. Video footage shared on social media appeared to show the crash site, with black smoke visible against the foot of the mountain.
Among the dead are NBCUniversal journalist Jose Suarez and Ecuador's intelligence chief Michele Sensi-Contugi.
