Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was reached between Israel and the militant group Hamas last October. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 1,005 Palestinians have been killed in the eight months since the ceasefire, while other reports indicate the number has reached at least 1,007.
The enclave has experienced near-daily strikes, as well as shelling and gunfire along the boundary dividing Gaza into Israeli and Palestinian-controlled zones. Recent deaths were recorded following a series of Israeli drone strikes over several days in central Gaza and Gaza City, with at least four people reported killed in the latest strikes.
The total death toll from the Israel-Hamas war has now surpassed 73,000. The Gaza Health Ministry, which maintains detailed records generally viewed as reliable by the international community, does not differentiate between civilians and combatants.
