Finland Investigates Drone Crashes, Suspected Territorial Violation

Unidentified drones crashed in southeastern Finland on Sunday, prompting a suspected territorial violation investigation by the country’s defense ministry. This follows similar incidents reported last week in neighboring Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo indicated the drones were likely Ukrainian and may have entered Finnish airspace due to Russian jamming of signals. Kyiv has been conducting drone attacks targeting Russian territories along the over 1,300 km border with Finland.

The Defense Forces are currently working to determine the cause of the airspace breaches. Two drones were confirmed to have crashed in the southern part of the country on Sunday morning.
