Luka Doncic is cleared to play Monday night against the Detroit Pistons after the NBA rescinded his 16th technical foul of the season. The foul was initially assessed during Saturday’s game against Orlando’s Goga Bitadze.
The technical foul stemmed from a verbal exchange between Doncic and Bitadze with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter. Both players received technicals, and an appeal was filed by the Lakers following the game.
The NBA announced Sunday that the technical fouls for both players would be removed, avoiding a one-game suspension for Doncic. The Lakers enter the game with a nine-game winning streak, during which Doncic is averaging 40 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists.
