NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three children died in a house fire Saturday in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Pierce, 37, had covered the Minnesota Wild for NHL.com for the past decade.

Firefighters responded to the scene Saturday morning after neighbors reported flames coming from the roof. Crews found an adult, three children, and a dog deceased inside the home.

The NHL and the Minnesota Wild both released statements mourning Pierce’s death, describing her as a kind and passionate person dedicated to her family and hockey. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Fire Chief Greg Peterson asked for community support during this difficult time, stating, “Our hearts ache for those involved in this tragedy.”
