Prime Minister Keir Starmer will convene leaders from a number of sectors at Downing Street on Tuesday to tackle rising antisemitism. The prime minister is calling for a whole-of-society response, stating that the responsibility to stand with Jewish communities lies with every one of us.
These meetings follow a series of attacks targeting British Jews, including a knife attack in north London's Golders Green where two men were stabbed last week. Other recent incidents include a spate of serious arson attacks and a terror incident in Heaton Park in October.
Starmer emphasized that it is not enough to simply condemn antisemitism, but that people must show it through their actions. Meanwhile, the prime minister warned Iran against encouraging antisemitism in Britain as UK authorities investigate whether a foreign state was behind some of the recent attacks on the country's Jewish community.
