U.S. President Donald Trump will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday during a NATO summit in Turkey. A senior U.S. official stated that the meeting is intended to make a renewed push to end the war in Ukraine.
The summit is expected to be charged with tension regarding President Trump's views on Greenland, European defense spending, and the Iran war. These topics, along with Ukraine and Iran, were also discussed during calls to mark the 250th birthday of the United States.
Additionally, the White House announced that Trump plans to meet with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa on Wednesday. This meeting comes after Trump repeatedly suggested that Damascus could get involved militarily in Lebanon.
