A shootout occurred Wednesday morning in downtown Kyiv between officers from two branches of Ukraine's security services, the domestic security service (SBU) and the military intelligence directorate (HUR). The armed standoff resulted in three intelligence officers being wounded.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the event as "disgraceful," "absolutely shameful," and "absolutely disgraceful." The domestic security service also stated that the clash with the military intelligence directorate definitely should not have happened.

In response to the internal conflict, President Zelenskyy ordered an investigation and dismissed a department head at the country's security service.
