Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green party in England and Wales, has announced that he will stand as a candidate in the Holborn and St Pancras byelection. The north London seat became vacant following the resignation of former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Polanski has moved closer to his quest to become an MP with the support of local Green party members. On Tuesday, he began campaigning in the Holborn area alongside Hannah Spencer, the Green MP for Gorton and Denton.

The party leader stated that he would stand up for people struggling to pay their bills if he is elected as the representative for the area.
