The family of Renee Good has filed two federal civil lawsuits following the fatal shooting of the 37-year-old U.S. citizen by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in south Minneapolis. Good was one of two U.S. citizens fatally shot by federal immigration agents in the city in January.

The shooting occurred on January 7 during a federal immigration crackdown as protests against immigration raids flared across Minneapolis.

The lawsuits, filed on Thursday nine months after the incident, were brought by Good's partner, Becca Good, and her brother, Brent Ganger. The legal action targets the agent who shot her as well as several top officials in the Trump administration and the U.S. government.

The filings allege wrongful death, excessive force, negligence, conspiracy, and civil rights violations. The lawsuits claim these actions constitute various violations of federal law.
