A salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 345 people across the United States, with the majority of cases reported in Colorado and Minnesota. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provided the total count, while the Minnesota Department of Health identified 110 cases in that state.
The Food and Drug Administration is investigating the outbreak. Minnesota health officials noted that Chipotle has cooperated fully with these investigations.
Both Chipotle and Qdoba have responded by removing jalapeños from their restaurants. Qdoba Restaurant Corp. pulled the ingredient from more than 800 of its locations.
