Search teams continued to work through the rubble of collapsed buildings in western Colombia on Sunday, nearly a week after a powerful earthquake devastated cities and towns across the region. The 7.4-magnitude quake struck Monday morning in San Jose del Palmar, causing severe damage across the country's west.

Official estimates indicate that around 290 people have died as a result of the disaster. Additionally, nearly 4,000 individuals were injured and at least 140 people remain missing.

The disaster has left many residents homeless as authorities and rescue crews continue to navigate the devastation to locate survivors among the wreckage.
