Senegal kept their World Cup knockout hopes alive in dominant fashion on Friday in Toronto with a 5-0 victory over Iraq in their Group I finale. The result eliminated Iraq from the tournament.

Iraq was forced to play with 10 men after defender Rebin Sulaka was sent off in the first half. Senegal capitalized on the advantage in the second half, scoring four goals after the break. Ismaïla Sarr scored his third goal of the tournament, and substitute Pape Gueye added two sensational long-range strikes.

The victory secured a third-place group finish for the Lions of Teranga. Senegal currently holds the fifth-best record among third-place teams based on their plus-2 goal differential as they vie for one of eight spots in the last 32.
