Russian missile and drone attacks targeted Kyiv and its surrounding regions overnight Wednesday, killing four people, including a child. Officials reported that at least seven other people were wounded during the strikes.

The attacks, which utilized ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, targeted energy infrastructure and caused power outages in the capital and nearby areas. The strikes left Kyiv shrouded in smoke.

The military activity extended beyond Ukrainian borders, leading to the brief closure of two airports in Poland, located in Lublin and Rzeszow.
