Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pledged to bring Britain closer to the European Union. The announcement comes as he faces calls to step down following poor local election results for the Labour Party.
The Labour Party Leader also acknowledged growing discontent from backbench MPs. In response to these internal pressures, he promised to implement interventionist policies.
During a speech in London, Starmer addressed those questioning his leadership. "I know I have my doubters and I know I need to prove them wrong, and I will," the prime minister said.
