Israeli warplanes and helicopters carried out separate strikes in Gaza City and Deir al-Balah, killing at least eight people overnight. Local authorities reported that attacks on residential buildings claimed several lives, including a husband and wife killed when a helicopter struck an apartment, as well as an elderly man and a child. Earlier on Saturday, at least seven additional people were killed in separate strikes.
The Gaza Health Ministry condemned a strike on medicine warehouses used by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, describing the attack on medical stores as heinous. The strike damaged medical supplies and killed four people.
These operations continue despite Hamas stating it had agreed to the latest stage of a deal aimed at ending the war. While Israel has carried out strikes since agreeing to a US-mediated ceasefire last October, an Israeli minister stated there was no deal to halt attacks on the strip.
According to Gaza health authorities, at least 1,230 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire was agreed in October.
