US strike on alleged drug boat in eastern Pacific kills 3

armed conflict defense & military

The U.S. military killed three people on Thursday in an attack on a boat suspected of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

The strike is part of a months-long campaign by the Trump administration against alleged traffickers in Latin America. Washington describes the operation as a series of strikes on vessels operated by narcoterrorists.

Since the administration began targeting these individuals in early September, the total number of people killed in U.S. military boat strikes has reached at least 211.
