Federal agents have conducted raids and seized electronic devices from former Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell as part of a federal criminal probe into sexual misconduct allegations. On Saturday, agents seized devices from Swalwell at the San Francisco airport, followed by a search of his Washington DC home on Sunday.
The law enforcement activity stems from an investigation into sexual assault claims, with four women having accused the former representative of sexual misconduct.
Swalwell, who was a vocal critic and prominent antagonist of President Donald Trump, resigned from Congress in April after the allegations surfaced in the spring. He also dropped out of the California governor's race, where he had previously been considered a leading candidate.
