Kuwait has arrested four men it accuses of being members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard following a failed infiltration of Bubiyan Island in the Persian Gulf. According to Kuwait's interior ministry, the armed group arrived on May 1 aboard a rented fishing boat and exchanged fire with Kuwaiti soldiers.

Iran's foreign ministry condemned the arrests, stating that the four individuals were on maritime patrol and entered Kuwaiti territorial waters due to a disruption in their navigation. The ministry rejected Kuwait's statements claiming that Iran was planning hostile actions against the Gulf country.

Iran did not immediately acknowledge the allegations, which come amidst a shaky ceasefire and ongoing attacks throughout the region. These developments have threatened to reignite open warfare between the two nations.
