U.S. Vice President JD Vance landed in Switzerland early Sunday to help formally launch negotiations with Iranian leaders. The discussions are focused on curbing Tehran's nuclear program and building out a fragile interim deal to end the war in Iran.
Vance joined Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for the talks. In an interview with Fox News, the Vice President had expressed his expectation to travel to Switzerland to join the negotiators.
The technical-level talks began Sunday with participation from Qatari mediators and key mediator Pakistan. However, announcements have indicated a rough start to the negotiations.
