A powerful magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck China's remote Tibet region on Thursday evening. The tremor, which hit the Tibetan Plateau, is the strongest to strike China since January 2024 and the biggest to hit the region in the last five years.
At least 16 people have died and 32 others have been injured in the disaster. The earthquake caused hundreds of houses to collapse.
Following the main event, smaller tremors occurred, prompting residents to flee their homes.
