British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under pressure to act following a spate of anti-Semitic incidents, including the stabbing of two Jewish men in London on Wednesday. The UK's most senior police officer has warned that Jewish communities are currently facing the biggest threat they have ever encountered.
In response, Starmer indicated that the government could ban pro-Palestinian marches in some circumstances. While he stated that he would always defend the right to protest, he expressed concern regarding the cumulative effect these demonstrations have on the Jewish community.
The Prime Minister called for tougher action against the language used during protest marches to allay the fears of British Jews. He stated that the phrase globalise the Intifada should be completely off limits and that individuals chanting the slogan should be arrested.
