Darline Graham, the interim senator for South Carolina and sister of the late Lindsey Graham, has announced she will seek a full six-year term in November's midterm elections. Graham was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to finish the remainder of the seat held by her brother for more than two decades and was sworn in last week following his death from an aortic tear earlier this month.
The decision follows an endorsement from Donald Trump, who urged her to enter the race for the Good of our Nation. In an upcoming interview with Sean Hannity, Graham stated that she had made her decision to run.
The entry of Darline Graham Nordone into the contest further complicates the Republican scramble to select a new Senate nominee. This development adds complexity to an already rushed process, as other South Carolina lawmakers had also been eyeing the position.
