UAE imposes indefinite trade embargo on Iran over alleged missile attacks

armed conflict defense & military

The United Arab Emirates defense ministry reported on Tuesday that its air defenses detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran. The missiles, which were fired toward the Gulf nation, both fell into the sea.

This event marks the first known attack from the Islamic Republic on the UAE since a May 4 strike on the Fujairah port. It is also the first time in months the defense ministry has warned of a missile threat to its territory as the wider Middle East war continues unabated.

Iran has denied the accusations that it fired missiles at shipping in the Gulf. Officials from the Islamic Republic suggested instead that the incident was a false flag operation.
