Rwanda has signed a 10-year deal to host Formula One races starting in the early 2030s. This marks the return of the sport to Africa for the first time since 1993, ending a gap of about 40 years.

The races will be held at a purpose-built track located on the outskirts of the capital, Kigali. This project is part of the country's ongoing investment in international sport.

Designers described the circuit as fast and flowing, featuring significant elevation changes. The layout is intended to allow spectators to get close to the action.
