The House of Representatives passed a resolution on Wednesday seeking to end the three-month-long conflict in Iran and limit President Donald Trump's war powers. The measure passed with a vote of 215-208, advancing the resolution to the Senate.
In a rare rebuke of the president, four Republicans joined with Democrats to support the move. While the resolution serves as a public rebuke, Congress remains far from being able to stop further attacks.
President Trump responded by describing the lawmakers who voted for the move as unpatriotic. Additionally, the vote could potentially give new shape to the upcoming midterm congressional elections in November.
