British cyclist Finlay Tarling has died at the age of 19 following a serious accident during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal race. The news was confirmed on Friday by both tour organisers and his team.
The incident occurred during the race stage between Melgaco and Fafe. Organisers announced via social media that Tarling died following the serious accident.
According to the RTP broadcaster, Tarling was hit by a non-race car that was driving in the opposite direction.
