Screenwriters and Hollywood studios have reached a tentative deal after a few weeks of negotiation, following a months-long strike by the Writers Guild of America in 2023.
The new four-year contract was announced quickly, with both sides showing little enthusiasm for a prolonged and costly dispute amid rapid changes in the global entertainment business.
The agreement must be approved by the guild’s board and members before it is officially ratified.
Officials expressed optimism, stating they “look forward to building on this progress as we continue working toward agreements that support long-term industry stability.”
