Aryna Sabalenka has secured her second consecutive Miami Open title, defeating Coco Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in Saturday’s final. The world number one’s victory completes the “Sunshine Double” after previously winning at Indian Wells earlier this season.
Gauff, a hometown favorite, reached the final for the first time, but was unable to overcome Sabalenka in the tense three-set match in Florida.
Sabalenka’s win marks back-to-back titles at the Miami Open, retaining the championship she previously held. She joins an exclusive group of players to achieve the “Sunshine Double” – winning both Indian Wells and Miami Open in the same year.
