Ukraine's defense minister reported that the country's armed forces shot down more than 33,000 Russian drones of various types in March, marking a record monthly figure since the invasion began more than four years ago. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that while Ukraine intercepts more than 90% of drones, the nation requires more American-made Patriot air defense missiles.

Recent attacks continue to target civilian areas, including an overnight Russian drone strike on the southern city of Odesa. Authorities reported that the attack wounded 14 people, including two children, and caused damage to residential buildings.

To address these threats, the military has established a new command within the air force intended to bolster the nation's defense capabilities.
