President Donald Trump stated that rival Democrats did a "good job" after they gained control of Congress in the November 3 midterm elections.
The president acknowledged that the war with Iran may have played a part in the defeat of the Republican Party, noting that "Iran was a piece of it" during an interview. Despite this, Trump did not take personal responsibility for the result that will upend the last two years of his presidency.
Trump maintained that the war was necessary to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapon and said he does not regret launching it. He stated that the war has been worth it, adding that he would have done nothing different and would launch it again.
