Chris Fall has resigned as director of the Trump administration's Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) after serving roughly three months in the role. Fall led the federal AI testing institute at the Department of Commerce until his departure on Monday.
The exit leaves the agency without permanent leadership at a time when Washington is rethinking how it polices frontier models. The director position has become a revolving door since David Sacks left his position as czar.
Arvind Raman, the director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, will serve as acting director of CAISI.
