President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he would send an agreement to end the war with Iran to Congress for approval, following the announcement of a peace deal on Sunday.
The agreement is meeting lukewarm reactions from Congress, including some allies of the president. Additionally, Iran and the United States have released conflicting accounts of what is contained within the alleged agreement.
Many questions remain regarding the peace deal, including whether President Trump will attend the signing ceremony. The president also voiced his openness to making the move at the start of a meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 summit in the French Alps.
