The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration are investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeno peppers from Mexico. The outbreak has sickened 345 people across 27 states.
Health officials report that there have been 36 hospitalizations and no deaths. The investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
The outbreak has prompted a recall of affected products. Supplier Coast Citrus Distributors is recalling peppers that were sent to restaurants.
