Explosions struck Beirut Saturday following Israeli strikes targeting alleged Hezbollah infrastructure. Earlier Friday, Israeli warplanes destroyed a bridge in eastern Lebanon, reportedly killing civilians leaving a mosque. Local media reported two strikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Israel has intensified attacks, including relaunching evacuation orders for Tyre, claiming targets are Hezbollah related. The military action comes as the invasion of southern Lebanon expands, increasing fear and displacement. Over 1.2 million people in Lebanon have been displaced since the conflict began.

The U.S. has warned that Iran may target universities amid the wider Middle East war. Authorities report at least 30 universities have been impacted by strikes from both the U.S. and Israel. An Israeli airstrike near a hospital wounded 11 people, causing damage to the facility.
