President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has written to U.S. President Donald Trump and Congress asking for more American-made air defense systems, interceptors, and ammunition. The Ukrainian leader is seeking expanded deliveries, specifically of Patriot missile systems, to counter intensifying Russian ballistic missile attacks.
Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing a broader campaign of attacks, noting that ballistic missiles remain Moscow's last major advantage on the battlefield.
Ukraine is currently running short on key U.S.-made air-defense supplies. This shortage has been exacerbated by the Iran war, which saw U.S. allies expend huge quantities of air defense ammunition protecting sites in the Gulf.
