House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., recently met privately with Jared Kushner, son-in-law and informal adviser to President Donald Trump. During the meeting, the two discussed possible areas of cooperation.
The discussions touched on several key issues, including housing, immigration, and the high costs of living.
The meeting comes as Democrats are currently favored to win a majority in the House of Representatives following the November elections. Jeffries is in line to become the next House Speaker should Democrats take control of the House.
