At least 14 people, including police officers, were killed on Sunday in a suicide bombing in the Swat Valley of northwestern Pakistan. The explosion occurred outside a police station, targeting a crowd of citizens during a demonstration against militancy and a surge in violence.
In addition to the fatalities, more than two dozen people were wounded in the attack. The blast targeted protesters at an anti-militant rally as the country battles widening insurgencies.
Authorities reported the bombing, and the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
