The United States government has imposed sanctions on Palestine Action, a UK-based direct action organization. On Wednesday, the US Department of the Treasury designated the group as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
In a notice posted on its website, the Treasury Department described the organization as a transnational terror group and a violent far-left terrorist network. These sanctions allow the United States to freeze the assets of foreign entities and individuals.
The confirmation that the US government has taken action against the group comes as Palestine Action's challenge against proscription in the United Kingdom nears a supreme court hearing.
