Microsoft Corp.’s LinkedIn is making a concerted effort to combat AI slop, referring to the low-quality, artificial intelligence-generated content that has been increasingly dominating user feeds. Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan revealed that the company is taking steps to reduce these vaguely inspirational, machine-written posts.

To address the issue, the professional network has introduced a seems like AI slop button. Located within the post menu under the three-dot icon, this reporting option allows users to flag content they believe was written by AI.

In addition to the new reporting tool, LinkedIn is modifying its own AI capabilities. The platform is removing its enhance with AI option and replacing it with a proofreading tool that does not significantly rewrite posts.
