President Donald Trump told CNBC on Tuesday that AI giant Anthropic is shaping up in the eyes of his administration. The president predicted the U.S. government would have a good relationship with Anthropic PBC, signaling a stark reversal in tone toward the company.

Trump stated that his administration had some very good talks with the company during a White House meeting on April 17. During that session, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei discussed the Mythos AI model with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

These comments open the door for the AI company to reverse its blacklisting at the Pentagon, a move Trump indicated he is open to. However, the Pentagon's blacklisting of Anthropic remains in legal limbo with a federal appeals process as the company continues its fight with the department.
