Planet Labs will indefinitely withhold satellite imagery of Iran and the wider Middle East conflict region following a request from the U.S. government.
The U.S. administration asked multiple satellite imagery providers to voluntarily limit access to images of specific areas of interest due to the ongoing situation.
Planet Labs PBC confirmed it is complying with the request, restricting data access as a result. The company stated the government sought an “indefinite withhold of imagery” amid the conflict.
This action follows a request connected to the U.S.-Israel dynamic concerning Iran, with the company responding to ensure compliance with government directives.
