Afghanistan, Pakistan hold useful peace talks in China

international relations

Afghanistan and Pakistan have reported positive developments following peace talks held in China aimed at resolving ongoing conflict. The discussions, which took place this week, were described as “useful” and “constructive” by officials from Kabul.

The conflict between the South Asian neighbors initially broke out in October and saw renewed clashes in February. Pakistan has accused Afghanistan of harboring militants, allegations that Afghanistan denies.

Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry expressed hope that remaining disagreements will not impede further progress in halting cross-border fighting. China has offered its mediation services to ease tensions between the two countries.
