To implement the plan and relieve pressure on global energy markets, the proposal requires President Donald Trump to lift Iranian asset freezes and permit Iran to export its oil. Additionally, the terms would require the U.S. president to order Benjamin Netanyahu to end Israel's attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon.
While the United States has yet to provide a public response, reports indicate that President Trump has rejected the proposal. The president is privately skeptical that Tehran will meet his demands, and the conflict remains at a stalemate after nearly seven months.
Trump has reportedly told aides and staff that he expects to resume a bombing campaign against Iran following the U.S. midterm congressional elections in November. This expectation comes as Saudi-backed forces have intercepted projectiles in the region.
