Two men found guilty of arson attacks targeting UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer

Roman Lavrynovych, a 22-year-old from Ukraine, and Stanislav Carpiuc, 27, from Romania, have been found guilty at the Old Bailey of conspiring to carry out arson attacks. The men targeted two houses and a car linked to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a series of attacks last year.

While Lavrynovych and Carpiuc were convicted on Monday, another Ukrainian man, 35-year-old Petro Pochynok, was cleared of the same charge.

The court heard that one of the men was recruited through a Russian-language Telegram account. The case has subsequently raised questions about foreign interference in British public life.

The two convicted men are scheduled to face sentencing this Friday.
