Nicholas Brendon, the actor known for his role as Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has died at the age of 54. His family announced he passed away on Friday “in his sleep of natural causes”.
Brendon portrayed Xander Harris, one of Buffy’s closest friends, throughout the show’s seven seasons, which ran from 1997 to 2003. While his character often displayed a mix of heroism and hostility, he remained a fan favorite.
Beyond Buffy, the Los Angeles-born actor appeared in several other television series including Criminal Minds, Private Practice, and Kitchen Confidential. His family remembered him as a “passionate” and “sensitive” individual.
